The Studio
The hardest part was deciding where to house my studio. The options were:-
-
Convert my son's bedroom into a studio. He could then move into the bedroom next to us.
No - he stays up far too late playing computer games and would keep us awake
-
Change our small downstairs back room into a studio
Not suitable
-
Build extension onto back of house
Far too expensive!
-
Convert half of the garage
Husband said no
-
Build onto the back of the garage
We have a winner!
At the end of the day, this was the only feasible option unless we moved!
My First Attempts
Here I have added the items I created on the courses. I think you are lulled into a false sense of security as, although I cut the glass and decided on the design, all the kiln work was carried out by Deborah.

I have quickly realised that understanding your kiln and the properties of glass are a whole new ball game.
My own creations
I have added some photos of items I am proud of. There are plenty that didn't make the cut but still have been part of my ongoing journey
